บ้านดอยผาหมี

อยู่ในตำบลเวียงพางคำ อำเภอแม่สาย จังหวัดเชียงราย ดอยผาหมีเป็นที่รู้จักอย่างมากในเหตุการณ์ที่ทีมหมูป่าติดถ้ำ ที่นี่เป็นหมู่บ้านที่เปิดเป็นสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวแนวโฮมสเตย์ จุดสูงสุดอยู่สูงกว่าระดับน้ำทะเลประมาณ 1,400 เมตร อากาศเย็นสบาย เป็นหมู่บ้านของชาวไทยภูเขาเผ่าอาข่า มีพื้นที่ติดกับชายแดนประเทศพม่า ในอดีตพื้นที่รอบๆ หมู่บ้านประกอบอาชีพปลูกฝิ่นเป็นหลัก เพราะอยู่ในเส้นทางของการขนลำเลียงยาเสพติดข้ามชายแดน และเป็นพื้นที่ที่ทางการเข้าถึงยาก จนกระทั่ง พระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาภูมิพลอดุลเดช ในหลวงรัชกาลที่ 9 ได้เสด็จพระราชดำเนินมายัง ดอยผาหมี เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2514, พ.ศ. 2516 และ พ.ศ.2517 ซึ่งทรงให้คำแนะนำและสร้างอาชีพให้กับชาวบ้านผาหมี และมีการผลักดันอาชีพปลูกกาแฟ จนกาแฟดอยผาหมีเป็นที่รู้จักระดับโลก “โรงเรียนเจ้าพ่อหลวงอุปถัมภ์ 5” เดิมชื่อ “โรงเรียนตำรวจตระเวนชายแดนบำรุงที่  45” ตั้งอยู่ในบ้านผาหมี พ.ศ. 2506 พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวภูมิพลอดุลยเดช รัชกาลที่ 9 ได้พระราชทานทุนทรัพย์ส่วนพระองค์  จำนวน 20,000  บาท เพื่อสร้างอาคารเรียน บ้านพักครู ปัจจุบันบ้านผาหมี ได้เปิดเป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยว เพื่อกระจายรายได้ให้กับชุมชน โดยบนดอยผาหมี มีร้านกาแฟดอยผาหมี ร้านกาแฟโอโซนผาหมี พร้อมทั้งโฮมสเตย์ และจุดกางเต็นท์ให้บริการ การเดินทางไปดอยผาหมี รถยนต์ทุกชนิดสามารถไปได้ ตั้งแต่ร้าน 71 Coffee view ขึ้นไปถนนแคบมาก บางช่วงส่วนกันไม่ได้ โค้งหักศอก สูงชัน ด้านข้างเป็นไหล่เขา หากไม่มั่นใจแนะนำให้จอดรถที่ลานจอดสาธารณะหน้าร้าน 71 Coffee view แล้วเหมารถสองแถวในพื้นที่ขึ้นไป การขับผ่านโค้งหักศอกที่เป็นมุมอับ แนะนำให้ใช้สัญญาณแตรก่อนถึงโค้ง ถ้ามีรถสวนมาจะได้ระมัดระวัง
